I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mary Winters-Meyer and everyone else who contributed to the wonderful "Bead Aid" box I was given at the July meeting.
Your thoughtfulness touched me deeply, and I very much appreciate the "new toys" with which to occupy my thoughts.

Spiral Rope - Let's Do The Twist!.
Meeting Class (2 part series, taught by Mary W-M and Lois Hartwig.) In part one of this class, you will learn the basics of making a spiral rope chain. We will also discuss some of the basic color variations made possible by this technique. In part two, you will learn more advanced techniques for spiral rope, such as how to vary the size/width of the chain, how to do more complex shading of colors along the chain, and how to embellish the base chain with various techniques.
Meeting Dates: July 20, 2002 & August 17, 2002
Materials needed: Seed beads (any size), thread, needle, scissors. If you wish to make a short necklace or a bracelet, you will also need a clasp. (For a basic bracelet, 5 grams of each color seed bead is plenty. For a necklace, you should have about 10 grams of each, unless you are introducing lots of color variations.)
For the August meeting, be sure to have at least three inches of a base spiral completed if you want to try out the embellishment techniques for the Spiral Rope Chain.
Lots - but didn't get a listing
Moved: Bo Breda has left the central Illinois area for a job back east. Our very best wishes to Bo for continued success and happiness in her own personal life path. Thanks for being with us for a little while, sharing your expertise and knowledge, and please keep in touch.
